Dougal is a British legend and pioneer of UK Hardcore, Happy Hardcore, and Freeform Hardcore.

Born Paul Arnold Clarke, Dougal co-founded the legendary Essential Platinum label in 1994 alongside Hixxy, establishing a platform that became synonymous with Happy Hardcore excellence and was voted the number one Hardcore label for many consecutive years. With over 35 years in the rave scene since 1991, Dougal shaped the euphoric hardcore sound through his signature blend of uplifting synths, pitched vocals, and heart-pounding beats.

On stage, Dougal delivered electrifying performances at iconic raves including Dreamscape, Helter Skelter, and Equinox, earning him recognition as Best Hardcore DJ in the world and MTV's Best Rave DJ. His extensive work with longtime collaborator Gammer produced anthems featured in the gold-certified Bonkers compilation series, which reached the UK Top 20 charts multiple times.
