Dubstep Drum & Bass Electronic Rock

Modestep, led by Josh Friend from London, is a pioneering electronic act recognized for blending Dubstep, Drum & Bass, and Electronic Rock into a genre-defying sound. Originally formed as a band in 2010 with brothers Tony and Josh Friend, Modestep quickly rose to prominence in the UK bass music scene, achieving chart success with their debut single "Feel Good" which reached BBC Radio 1's A-List within weeks of its release.

Throughout their evolution, Modestep has released groundbreaking albums including Evolution Theory (2013) and London Road (2015), showcasing their ability to seamlessly merge heavy dubstep with live instrumentation and raw rock energy. Their signature sound draws comparisons to acts like Pendulum and The Prodigy, featuring Josh's powerful vocals over crushing basslines and explosive drum patterns. Notable releases on labels such as Monstercat, Disciple Records, and Never Say Die demonstrate their versatility across the bass music spectrum.

Since becoming a solo project in 2022, Josh Friend has continued to push Modestep's creative boundaries while honoring its 15-year legacy. His productions range from dark, tear-out dubstep to energetic drum and bass, all unified by distinctive melodic elements and an uncompromising approach to sound design. Modestep has performed at major festivals worldwide and collaborated with artists including Zomboy, Funtcase, Cookie Monsta, and Barely Alive.

With over a decade of festival performances and millions of streams globally, Modestep remains a vital force in electronic music, constantly evolving while maintaining the innovative spirit that defined their breakthrough. Josh Friend's commitment to authenticity and genre-fusion continues to inspire new generations of bass music fans. Modestep embodies the innovative spirit of Dancing Dead Records.
