The Toxic Avenger
DJ & Producer
The Toxic Avenger, born Simon Delacroix in Paris, is an award-winning French DJ, producer, and composer recognized for his genre-hopping blend of Electro, Synthwave, and French Touch. Since his breakthrough in 2007 with the hit track "Superheroes" on Los Angeles label Iheartcomix, The Toxic Avenger has established himself as one of France's most versatile electronic music artists, seamlessly blending gritty basslines, neon synths, and cinematic atmospheres.
Originally rooted in rock and punk, Simon transitioned to electronic music with a unique philosophy: creating rock 'n' roll exclusively with synthesizers and drum machines. This approach has defined his sound across acclaimed albums including Angst (2011), Romance & Cigarettes (2013), and Yes Future (2022), the latter featuring collaborations with Alain Chamfort, Mystery Skulls, and Sophie Tith. His work spans from hard-hitting electro to nu-disco and French Touch, drawing comparisons to Daft Punk, Kavinsky, and John Carpenter.
Beyond his solo career with over 60 million streams globally, The Toxic Avenger has become a celebrated composer for video games and film. His soundtrack for the game Furi (2016) earned the Best Music in Video Games award, while his score for the animated film Mutafukaz won the Best Original Soundtrack prize at the Gérardmer Film Festival in 2018. His music has been featured in productions including Fast & Furious, Watch Dogs, Need for Speed, and The Crew, cementing his reputation as a master of cinematic electronic music.
With notable collaborations including remixes for Magic Sword and Naeleck, and featuring artists like Orelsan, Chromeo, and Look Mum No Computer, The Toxic Avenger continues to push creative boundaries. He has toured internationally, performing alongside Skrillex and at major festivals including Nuits Sonores. The Toxic Avenger embodies the innovative spirit of Dancing Dead Records.
